I’m sure others have already mentioned that the underlying psychological forces behind ‘truth networks’ — our desire to have and share a coherent way of seeing the world — is as old as humanity.
Nevertheless, I think the term is very useful, given the way global publishing4all and social platform algorithms have combined to allow such “ways of seeing the world” to be shared by global movements and communities. The difference in scale created by these networks is significant.
